On Tuesday, we learned how to use acrylics with different techniques. Specifically, using objects such a broken ruler to create texture and pattern.
For this piece, I used the female figure (primary photo) as a guide to where my paint should be placed. I used random colours just to see how it would look like in terms of mixing and outcomes.
The technique I used involved dipping a broken ruler into the acrylic paint and dragging it in different directions.
It turned out very abstract and the colours were vibrant/contrasting, however I didn't like the style of it as I didn't put too much thought to make it look presentable.
I also started to experiment with the backgrounds I made previously. These are rough ideas and I think I will create proper drawings later on and use the backgrounds to show emotion.
My current idea is to convey people's feelings during the Pandemic using my survey as evidence. I have plans of also including photography with my art.
